Beyond polls

Polls measure opinion. Quizzes test knowledge. That distinction changes how your audience engages with your stream. Instead of picking a preference, viewers have to think, recall, and compete against each other for the right answer.

Quizzes add gamification to your stream with correct and incorrect answers, timed questions, and competitive leaderboards. They create memorable stream moments that keep viewers coming back. Whether you're quizzing chat on game trivia, testing their knowledge of your community, or running a pub-style quiz night, quizzes turn passive viewers into active participants.

How quizzes work

1. Create a quiz

From the Rebeam dashboard, create a quiz with multiple questions. Each question has options and a correct answer. Set a time limit per question to keep the pace moving.

2. Start during your stream

Launch the quiz while live. Questions appear one at a time with a countdown timer. The quiz overlay shows the question and options on screen so viewers know exactly what to answer.

3. Viewers answer in chat

Viewers type the number of their answer in Twitch or YouTube chat. Correct answers earn points. After each question, the correct answer is revealed. A leaderboard tracks scores across all questions so viewers can see who's winning.

Cross-platform scoring

Viewers on both Twitch and YouTube participate in the same quiz. Scores are unified into one leaderboard regardless of which platform a viewer is watching on. No separate quizzes, no split results.

Your entire audience competes together. A viewer on YouTube can beat a viewer on Twitch, and the leaderboard reflects it in real time.

Quiz overlays for OBS

Quizzes come with two OBS overlays. The quiz overlay shows the current question, options, countdown timer, and correct answer reveal. The leaderboard overlay shows ranked viewer scores and updates after each question.

Both overlays are added as browser sources in OBS. They appear automatically when a quiz is running and disappear when it ends. You can customise the colours from the Rebeam dashboard with a live preview.
